This interview

The results of the questionaire will be reviewed to determine appropriate candidates to interview further. Candidates will be a mix between those who are successful and unsuccessful at self-regulation. The purpose of this interview is to further investigate on uncovered themes that may be worth exploring.

From this interview, a "scenario" will be determined to base the prototype from. Interview participant results will be used to create a clear persona that will be used to evaluate the proposed prototype.

Profile

Goals & Motivations: [experience, non-situational]

To establish a particular scenario (2-3 examples) for a self-determined pursuit, and if they are actively or passively pursuing it in their personal time. To understand what motivates them towards this pursuit (why it’s important), as well as what their ideal state is when actively progressing this personal ambition.

Barriers: [experience, non-situational & situational]

To determine what methods have been attempted to progress their self-determined pursuits, and the barriers/challenges experienced from past methods. To validate if they struggle with remembering their pursuits and what causes them to forget.

Current Pratice: [knowledge, non-situation specific]

To gain insight on the existing techniques the subject uses to manage their digital calendar. To determine how they prioritize their unstructured personal time towards their own pursuit, and if they track their progress.

2.2 Interview Results Analysis

Audio recording of interviews will be captured and to create transcriptions of their responses.

Text analysis will used in addition to qualitative research analysis, to combine quantitative insights as a mixed method to improve the quality of results. This allows for contextual information to be overlaid with empirical insights on word relationships, to either discover uncovered themes or to reinforce found themes.

Voyant Tools, which is an open-source web-based application used for tech analysis to extract word frequency and word relationship and to gain an empirical understanding of potential uncovered themes as well as used to validate discovered themes from qualitative analysis;.
