Design-thinking involves the "getting to know your customers" or the "empathy" stage which investigates users within their contextual environments to first-hand uncover an understanding of their struggles on the particular topic of study. This interview targets those who are self-motivated, ambitious in their intentions for self-improvement, yet may struggle with regular distractions that veer them away from regularly progressing their own self-authored personal goals. For this research, the interview aims to investigate current methods that participants use when maintaining awareness towards their self-determined pursuits, their perceived effectiveness of their own self-regulatory methods, as well as struggles they face maintaining traction towards these pursuits.

This investigative process is separated into two stages: first an online questionaire will be distributed to gather broad self-reported written responses, and then from the responses three participants will be chosen to further investigate in detail.
